From Field to Faith – Defining Rest Through Labor

Join us for an inspiring presentation by Rabbi Nisan Andrews, Rabbi of Congregation House of Jacob-Mikveh Israel, as he explores the spiritual and practical intersection of working and resting. This thought-provoking talk frames rest not as inactivity, but as an active, faithful trust in completed work — both divine and human. Rabbi Andrews presents the perspective that labor (field) is a form of worship that naturally leads to spiritual rest (faith), ensuring that rest becomes a designed, productive rhythm in our lives.

About the Venue:

The presentation will be held at the Little Synagogue on the Prairie, also known as the Montefiore Institute — a beautifully restored 1916 wood-frame synagogue located within Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary, Alberta. Originally built to serve Jewish farming families near Sibbald, AB, this rare surviving pioneer synagogue has been a cherished and popular museum exhibit at Heritage Park since 2009.
